Beso smiling hat

Materials:

worsted weight (sky blue, white, black) yarn,

3.5 mm hook,

needle.

abbreviations:

ch_ chain

Sc _ single crochet

Sl st _ slip stitch

Hdc _ half double crochet

Fpdc _ front posterior double crochet

Bpdc _ back posterior double crochet

Pattern:

start with the sky blue yarn making magic ring or ch 6 and sl st in the 1st ch, ch 2

Round 1: make 7 hdc in the circle , sl st to top of 1st hdc

Round 2:  Ch 2, 2 hdc in each stitch around, sl st in 1st hdc

Round 3:  Ch 2, (1 hdc, 2 hdc In the next stitch) repeat in the same manner till The end, join with sl st

Round 4: ch 2, (hdc, hdc, 2 hdc In the next stitch) repeat In the same manner , join with sl st

Round 5: ch 2, ( hdc In the next 3 stitches, 2 hdc in the next stitch) repeat in the same manner till the end, join with sl st

Round 6: ch 2, (hdc in the next 4 stitches, 2hdc in the next stitch) repeat , join with sl st.

Round 7:ch 2, (hdc in the next 5 stitches, 2 hdc in the next stitch) repeat, join with sl st.

Round 8: ch 2, (hdc in the next 6 stitches,  2 hdc in the next stitch) repeat, join with sl st.

Round 9: ch 2, hdc in each stitch around,Join with sl st , then fast off and join white yarn.

Round 10 - 14 : repeat as round 9, join the sky blue yarn.

Round 15-18: ch 3, ( fpdc , bpdc ) repeat In the same manner till the end, join sl st, join the white yarn.

Round 19 -22 : repeat as round 15.

Round 23: ch 1, sc all around, join with sl st, fast off and weave in ends.

for the eyes:
make two using black yarn

Round 1 : do magic ring, ch2, 7 hdc, join with sl st.
Round 2 : ch2, 2 hdc in each stitch, join with sl st, FO, weave in ends.
sew them in a suitable place.

for the mouth i just sewed a black yarn in that manner.

Note:

round 8' : ch 2, ( hdc In the next 7 stitches, 2 hdc in the next stitch) repeat , join with sl st

round 8" : ch 2, (hdc in the next 8 stitches , 2 hdc in the next stitch) repeat , join with sl st

To make the pattern fits children add 8' to the pattern after round 8

To make the pattern fits teen and adult add 8' and 8" rounds after round 8
